If you're ever craving a hearty steak dinner, you already know the best candidates for the job. For generations, steakhouses have catered to hungry customers searching for a beautiful cut of beef paired with delicious sides and perfect drinks. With so many stellar ones across the nation, diners are almost spoiled for choice on which ones they should check out next.

That's why 24/7 Tempo released a list of every state's best steakhouse, from longtime establishments to more recent restaurants carving out a legacy. Writers made their picks based on reviews and ratings from various websites. Chain restaurants were not included.

Guard and Grace was crowned Colorado's top steakhouse! This year marks the acclaimed restaurant's 10th anniversary. Diners can look forward to several kinds of juicy steaks for their meals, including prime and wagyu. Here's why the restaurant caught writers' attention:

"Chef Troy Guard opened this elegant steakhouse, with wraparound floor-to-ceiling windows looking out on the city, in 2014 (Grace is his daughter). The menu offers prime steaks, including a bone-in tomahawk ribeye, as well as grass-fed and wagyu alternatives (there is also a filet flight, with 4-ounce portions of filet mignon from all three categories). One steak-related dish is a wagyu short rib with huckleberry barbecue sauce. (Guard opened a second location in Houston in 2019.)"

You can find this restaurant at 1801 California St. in Denver.
